- Voice Recordings: Audio recordings you create within the App for transcription and processing.
- Text Input: Notes, thoughts, and text content you manually enter.

- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Data: App feature usage, session duration, and interaction patterns to improve our services.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide Authentication Services: Manage your account, enable secure login, and maintain your session.
- Transcribe and Process Content: Convert your voice recordings to text using AI-powered transcription services.
- Organize Your Ideas: Automatically categorize and tag your content using AI analysis.
- Generate Summaries: Create summaries and extract key insights from your recordings and notes.
- Sync Across Services: If you enable integrations (e.g., Notion, Todoist, Gmail), sync your content to those platforms.

3. AI Processing
TikPal uses artificial intelligence to process your content, including:
- Speech-to-text transcription
- Content summarization
- Automatic tagging and categorization
- Insight extraction
Your content may be processed by third-party AI service providers, including OpenAI and Anthropic (Claude). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for providing the requested services. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies for more information.

- Storage: Your data is stored securely on cloud servers with industry-standard encryption.
- Encryption: All data transmission uses TLS/SSL encryption. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.
- Access Control: Only authorized personnel have access to user data, and only when necessary for service operation.
- Authentication Security: Account authentication is handled by Clerk, which implements industry-standard security practices including secure password hashing and OAuth 2.0 protocols.
6. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal or legitimate business purposes.
- Voice Recordings: Processed audio files are automatically deleted from our servers within 7 days after transcription is complete, unless you choose to save them.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With third-party vendors who assist in operating our App (e.g., cloud hosting, AI processing, authentication), under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Integrations: With third-party apps you explicitly choose to connect (e.g., Notion, Todoist, Gmail).
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information through your account settings.
- Deletion: Delete your account and associated data directly within the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account). Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Export: Export your content in a portable format.
- Withdraw Consent: Disable certain data processing features at any time through App settings.

9. Your Privacy Rights by Region
For California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt-out of the sale of personal information (note: we do not sell personal information).
For European Users (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
10. Children's Privacy
TikPal is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
